Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) on Thursday said President Trump would “do himself a big favor” if he stayed off television after an interview in which Trump suggested that cooperating with prosecutors in a plea deal should be illegal.
“I think the President would probably do himself a big favor if he would stay off television and focus on some of the issues we have to deal with,” Corker said, according to NBC News. “I think he hurts himself when he says things like that.”
In an interview that aired Thursday on “Fox & Friends,” Trump attacked his former personal attorney Michael Cohen for reaching a plea agreement with prosecutors in New York and pleading guilty to eight counts, including campaign finance violations, in which he implicated the president.
