Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said Sunday that North Korea’s latest nuclear test is “a serious escalation” in Pyongyang’s ability to commit mass murder.
“This step…is a serious escalation in their ability to commit mass acts of murder,” Cruz told ABC’s “This Week.”
Cruz described North Korea as “the most dangerous place on the face of the planet.”

During the interview, Cruz said he agrees with President Trump that bullies like North Korea leader Kim Jong Un understand tough talk, but also said he would not use Trump’s specific rhetoric.
“I think the president is right that Kim Jong Un and other bullies only understand and respect strength,” said Cruz.
“The president speaks in ways I wouldn’t speak, but that is his prerogative,” he later added.
