John Kelly assured Jeff Sessions he won't be fired or forced to resign: Report

In one of his first acts of White House chief of staff, John Kelly called Attorney General Jeff Sessions to assure him he won’t be fired, according to a report Wednesday night.

The Associated Press reported Kelly told Sessions that President Trump was still frustrated with the attorney general but is supportive of his work and does not want to fire him or force him to resign.

Late last month, Trump said he was disappointed in Sessions’ decision to recuse himself from the federal Russia investigation, and said he would not have appointed him to be attorney general had he known he would recuse himself
