Report: Mike Flynn to decline Senate Intel committee subpoena, invoke 5th Amendment
Former national security adviser Mike Flynn will invoke his Fifth Amendment rights later Monday as he declines to comply with a Senate Intelligence Committee subpoena.
According to the Associated Press, Flynn will not turn over the personal documents to aide in the panel’s investigation into Russia’s meddling in the 2016 presidential election.
By turning over the documents without immunity, Flynn would have waived some of his constitutional protections. He had offered to testify before both the Senate and House Intelligence committees in exchange for immunity, but neither accepted the offer.
