Report: Obama secretly gave Iran exemptions on nuke deal provisions

As it turns out, the Obama administration and company planned all along to allow Iran to secretly violate restrictions of last summer’s nuclear deal with the totalitarian regime in order to meet, according to a new report released Thursday.

According to a report at Reuters:

The report is to be published on Thursday by the Washington-based Institute for Science and International Security, said the think tank’s president David Albright, a former U.N. weapons inspector and co-author of the report. It is based on information provided by several officials of governments involved in the negotiations, who Albright declined to identify …

Among the exemptions were two that allowed Iran to exceed the deal’s limits on how much low-enriched uranium (LEU) it can keep in its nuclear facilities, the report said. LEU can be purified into highly enriched, weapons-grade uranium.

“The exemptions or loopholes are happening in secret, and it appears that they favor Iran,” Albright told the wire service, which also reported that it was not able to independently verify the report’s findings.

While this would a massive violation of the Corker-Cardin bill’s provisions — which required the administration to report the provision of side deals for the congressional review to even be valid — it should come as little surprise. As previously wrote about the $400 million ransom that the United States clandestinely paid the Iranian regime, Congress set the stage for this kind of thing to happen in the first place.

Despite the clarion warnings from Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark. (B, 81%) and Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Kan. (C, 77%) about the various side agreements that would not be reported by the administration, Congress not only allowed the administration to double cross it and allowed the 60-day deal clock to start when it never should have been started in the first place.
