Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) warned Republicans to “wake up” after Democrats flipped a state Senate seat in a GOP-leaning district.
“Senate District 10 special election win by a Democrat is a wake up call for Republicans in Wisconsin,” Walker tweeted.
“WAKE UP CALL: Can’t presume that voters know we are getting positive things done in Wisconsin. Help us share the good news.”

The warnings come after Patty Schachtner (D) defeated state Rep. Adam Jarchow (R) in a special election to replace a state senator who left for a job in Walker’s administration.

The party is going to lose quite a few seats this year — and the blame will fall on both the party hierarchy and Trump. Trump is going to find out that not everyone worships him with the religious fervor of his fans, and that will be reflected in this year’s elections. This also does not bode well for Trump’s re-election in 2020, should he choose to run again.
