Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, on Sunday said he believes that if there are recordings of conversations between President Trump and recently terminated FBI Director James Comey, it is only a matter of time before they are handed over.

“I think it’s probably inevitable at this point if there are recordings — they will be subpoenaed and will be turned over,” Lee told “Fox News Sunday” host Chris Wallace.

Trump last week suggested the existence of recorded conversations, saying in a tweet that if Comey chose to make false statements about his relationship with the president, he’d better hope that tapes of their conversations are not leaked to the press to set the record straight. Trump later said he could not comment on the existence of such tapes.

Lee said the Trump administration has been “fully cooperating” with investigations being conducted by federal agencies and Congress, though Lee himself is not a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
