Nevada Sheriff Joe Lombardo, whose Clark County jurisdiction includes the area around Las Vegas, said Monday he doesn’t know how the deadly mass shooting in Las Vegas could have been prevented.
“This individual was described as a lone wolf. I don’t know how it could have been prevented,” he told reporters.
“We didn’t have any prior knowledge to this individual. It wasn’t evident that he had weapons in his room.”
He added: “We have determined that there has been employees going to and fro from this room and nothing nefarious was noticed.”
At least 58 people have died and hundreds more were injured after a gunman opened fire at a country music festival in Las Vegas.
