Special counsel investigators are requesting information about an as-yet unidentified person who attended a meeting between members of President Trump’s campaign and a Russian lawyer, CNN reported Tuesday.

The person’s attorney, Scott Balber, told the network that his client’s identity is known to prosecutors and that the person is “cooperating fully” with investigators.

“The eighth person has been identified by prosecutors, and we are cooperating fully with prosecutors as a result of the investigation,” Balber told CNN. “To preserve the integrity of the investigation, we are declining to identify him at this time.”

He said his client has not yet been interviewed.

……

The eighth person has yet to be publicly identified, though Balber told CNN that the person is a U.S. citizen who speaks fluent Russian and does not have ties to the Russian government.

The person is reportedly a representative of Emin Agalarov, a Russian-Azerbaijani pop star, and his father, Russian real estate developer Aras Agalarov, both of whom have done business with Trump.

Balber also represents the Agalarovs.

The unidentified person attended the meeting with the Trump campaign members with the idea that he would act as an interpreter for Veselnitskaya, but learned when he arrived at the meeting that she had her own interpreter, according to CNN.

(CNN) – The eighth person who attended the June 2016 meeting with Donald Trump Jr. at Trump Tower is a senior vice president at the company founded by the Russian oligarch who initiated the meeting, CNN has learned.

Ike Kaveladze’s identity was confirmed by his attorney, Scott Balber.

Kaveladze is a senior vice president at Crocus Group, the real estate development company run by Azerbaijani-Russian oligarch Aras Agalarov, according to Kaveladze’s LinkedIn. His personal website says he “holds responsibility for multiple elements of the company’s Russian development project.”

He studied at the Moscow Academy of Finance and also got an MBA from the University of New Haven in Connecticut, according to his website. Kaveladze has worked for the Agalarovs’ business since 2004, which means he was with the company when it partnered with the Trump Organization to pull off the 2013 Miss Universe pageant in Moscow.

Balber said Kaveladze is a long-time US citizen who speaks fluent Russian and has “never had any engagement with the Russian government in any capacity.”

Special Counsel investigators are seeking information from his client, Balber said. “The eighth person has been identified by prosecutors and we are cooperating fully with prosecutors as a result of the investigation.”

He has no ties to the Russian government? How do we know this? Because he said so? The guy obviously was a Russian citizen at one time, he studied there and immigrated here. We have no idea what this guy may or may not have to do with the Russian government.

This reminds me of when there is a mass attack somewhere the first thing you hear is that “it isn’t related to terrorism”. With this administration it is “no ties to the Russian government”.

There are too many coincidences in this and they all seem to have some degree of connection to Russia and the Trumps. It’s like a big centipede with a hundred legs. I don’t believe in that many coincidences.

They always say “follow the money”. I hope they get to the bottom of this soon but I think this investigation is going to keep growing as this web is slowly untangled.
