Steve Deace's Movie Review: The Greatest Showman

Saw The Greatest Showman, which I originally decided to do to “take one for the team” for a daddy-daughter date with Zoe. Musicals, aside from Wizard of Oz and Grease, aren’t typically my jam. Especially ones that are sold out in every theater in town, and require 3 hours of hassle to finally get into.

But I’m glad I persevered, because the movie is tremendous.

It has a broad message progressives and conservative traditionalists alike will probably take some solace in. The choreography is top notch, and several of the songs are really, really good. It’s a beautiful movie to look at, too.

Highly, highly recommend. If you can sell me on your musical, then you truly have one heckuva of a musical. And the content is safe for all ages as well, as its PG rating suggests.
