The lawyer representing Stormy Daniels, the porn star who claimed to have an affair with President Trump, said the president made a “hugely damaging admission” when he acknowledged longtime lawyer Michael Cohen represented him in matters involving Daniels.

Trump made the comment during an interview with Fox News’ “Fox and Friends” on Thursday morning when he was asked about Cohen’s decision to assert his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination in the case involving Daniels.

“Michael would represent me and represent me on some things. He represents me like with this crazy Stormy Daniels deal, he represented me, and from what I see, he did absolutely nothing wrong,” Trump said. “There were no campaign funds going into it, which would’ve been a problem.”

Michael Avenatti, who is representing Daniels, called Trump’s remarks “another gift from the heavens.”

“I don’t know how I’ve fallen into such good luck in this case but I’m going to take it,” Avenatti told MSNBC. “That’s a very damaging … it’s a hugely damaging admission by the president because according to what he said on Air Force One a few weeks ago, he didn’t know anything about the agreement, he didn’t know anything about the payment, Michael Cohen went off and did this on a lark, and Mr. Trump knew nothing about it.”

“President Trump says Michael Cohen only handed a “tiny, tiny little fraction,” of his legal deals.” Of course. He only handled the dirty stuff that an ethical attorney wouldn’t touch with a ten-foot pole.
