Normally one might expect a few days notice if they are being summoned to Cleveland. In fact, delegates were told to be there on the 14th for various committees.
But at 4:45 pm on Saturday, July 9, 2016, the RNC Counsel’s office sent out the following email:
Dear Members of the Convention Committee on Credentials,
In accordance with Rule 24(f) of The Rules of the Republican Party and Procedure 12 of the Procedures for Contests of Elections of Delegates and Alternate Delegates as passed by the Republican National Committee, Committee on Contests, you are being notified of the time and place of the Contest Committee’s Meeting in Cleveland, OH.
The Committee on Contests will hold contest hearings on Sunday, July 10 from 1:00 pm – 6:00 pm ET and Monday, July 11 from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm ET.The hearings will be held at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown, 100 Lakeside Avenue East, Cleveland, OH.
Members of the Convention Committee on Credentials may attend for observational purposes only, and may not participate in the hearing process or discussions on any Contest during any hearing.
That’s right. With less than twenty-four hour’s notice, the RNC Counsel notified delegates on the Credentials Committee that they needed to be in Cleveland today if they wanted to observe the process.
The Contest Committee is the committee that can reject delegates from attending the convention.
So with less than twenty-four hour’s notice, it is possible the Trump led RNC can reject any delegates who have come out vocally against him, even if duly selected by their various states.

We are a republic no longer! This is outrageous! If there was EVER a reason to form a 3rd party to combat the DC cartel, this is it. The RNC is signaling that if we don’t play by their games we can’t play at all. THEY are changing the rules. They do NOT want a conservative to come out as the winner and they are making that plain and simple. We bow to their will or else. Well, I don’t know about the rest of you but this is the very last straw. I cannot remain in a party that does everything possible to ensure that conservatives will lose. The message is clear and they want to destroy the Constitution just as much as the democrats so that they can do what they want. Well, this is our cue. We MUST stop them. This year is the year that we must get on our knees and take our pleas to a HIGHER source. The only ONE who can change the outcome of this election.

I feel like I could Cry♫Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness is rapidly fading away right before our eyes, not that there isn’t something we can do about it, it is that (at least so far) we will not do anything about it. There is but very little time left to take heed and avoid a most terrible and bloody revolution or worse; no revolution at all.
The way I see it now there is no one person, no one party, no outside influence, not the devil himself to blame for our failing Republic but only “we the people” are the offenders. By way of our founding documents we have been warned continually for 240 years; those documents are a road map to freedom with all maintenance instructions included, but it appears “we the people” treat them as though they are but empty words if not a curse, there is no excuse to be made.
