President Donald Trump on Wednesday disbanded two of his economic councils after a wave of defections from high-profile CEOs.

…….

All in all, eleven business leaders and CEOs had quit Trump’s councils, eight of them this week alone in response to his controversial comments on race and white supremacy.

He couldn’t stand the humiliation any longer so he just disbanded the groups.

And today he killed the Infrastructure Council.

Trump has destroyed his relationship with the business community. And this is going to hurt on tax reform.

Why do you think the market dropped 274 points today? Wall Street sees the writing on the wall.

If Donald Trump looks like a lame duck, walks like a lame duck, and quacks like a lame duck, is he still a viable chief executive of the U.S. government? Will he be able to get anything done? Will he have the clout to push through complex tax or infrastructure bills, or anything else meaningful?

Expectations on tax cuts, ObamaCare and repealing Dodd-Frank are now so low that any action on those policy areas would come as a surprise.

Gotta get the debt limit raised and a budget passed first. That will be a major sh**storm. Tax reform ain’t gonna happen.

I honestly think Trump really doesn’t care if anything he promised ever gets done. Those empty promises were merely meant to capture and retain the attention of his worshipers. Because most of his followers have little mind of their own, they blindly accept his excuses that when his promises aren’t fulfilled, the blame lies with others, including his favorite scapegoats — congressional Republicans. He has his followers all believing that he is David battling Goliath –the underdog or the victim of others’ evil. And that’s why he is traveling the country holding rallies — to reinforce his victimhood and to keep his worshipers from losing their faith in him.
