President Trump hyped up newly released government documents that contain text messages between FBI agents Lisa Page and Peter Strzok.

“NEW FBI TEXTS ARE BOMBSHELLS!” Trump tweeted Wednesday morning.

Strzok told his fellow agent President Obama “wants to know everything we’re doing” related to the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails, according to a newly released text. The two were having an extramarital affair at the time.

“Potus wants to know everything we’re doing,” Page texted Strzok on Sept. 2, 2016. That text was in reference to then-FBI Director James Comey, who had been preparing talking points for Obama regarding the probe into the former secretary of state.

Some Republicans argue the new exchange is evidence that Obama was more involved in the Clinton email probe than previously known.

But the texts were sent in September, roughly two months after Comey announced he would not recommend criminal charges against Clinton for using a personal email server as secretary of State.

Nevertheless, Trump and his GOP allies have seized on Strzok and Page’s texts as proof that the Russia investigation is politically motivated.

Trump latest tweet came 10 minutes after his daily intelligence briefing was set to begin, suggesting the president was running behind schedule.
