The Senate Intelligence Committee postponed a hotly anticipated interview with President Trump’s personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, his attorney told reporters on Tuesday.

Cohen had already been inside the committee’s closed staff spaces for close to two hours Tuesday morning when he announced the postponement. The committee has yet to issue a statement.

Cohen arrived at the committee’s offices in the Hart Senate Office Building shortly after 9 a.m. and emerged to speak to a scrum of reporters at 10:45 a.m.

Steve Ryan, an attorney for Cohen, said that the committee “has chosen to postpone today’s meeting,” adding that “we will come back for a voluntary interview whenever we can to meet with them.”
