Trump's Kryptonite – It took a nerd to stand up to the bully.

Not taking Trump’s garbage.

Watching presidential candidates Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz this week was like watching the bully’s punch painfully hit the book the nerd had hidden in his jacket. It was fun to see.

Bully in chief Donald Trump likes to throw litigious punches, and a lot of people are scared of them, understandably. Getting sued hurts. A lot. (Come to think of it, any form of bullying is pretty painful.) But we learned this week that Cruz can’t be bullied by Trump.

Very. Interesting.

Cruz didn’t even flinch when The Donald made the ridiculous threat to sue Cruz for running political ads that, gasp, show actual footage of Trump talking about an issue of great importance to voters. Instead, Cruz stood, calm and confident before the cameras and (essentially) said: “Make. My. Day.” He said he’d welcome the opportunity to depose Trump in court himself. Cruz was almost cool. Even those who don’t like him had to have been cheering as they watched this brilliant attorney taunt the reality television star.

How delicious to see Cruz beat Trump in a national poll on the same day – the campaign equivalent of the nerd landing a kick in the bully’s groin. Trump hasn’t had a day this bad since Carly Fiorina said: “I think women all over this country heard very clearly what Mr. Trump said.”

If the nerd is the bully’s kryptonite, there’s something in this fight for every kid who’s ever sat alone in the cafeteria.
