Cruz Easily Won the New Hampshire GOP Debate

Source: Red State | February 7, 2016 | Cruz Easily Won the New Hampshire GOP Debate

Sen. Ted Cruz won the New Hampshire GOP debate. Cruz managed to stay above the hand to hand combat between the desperate governors and Sen Marco Rubio and Donald Trump. He gave great answers to the ABC News moderators, some of whom spent the night fishing for sound bites that could be used to help the Democrats’ eventual nominee.

Gov. Chris Christie went after Sen. Marco Rubio early and seemed to rattle him. Unfortunately Christie came across as a nasty bully and damaged himself. Still the exchange resulted in one of the most memorable moments of the debate with Rubio subsequently repeating many times that Obama knows exactly what he is doing. The repetition was counterproductive to say the least. Trump blasted Rubio saying Obama is incompetent and doesn’t have a clue know what he is doing. The Christie and Trump attack on Rubio effectively blew up one of Rubio’s main talking points. Rubio seemed a bit off his game the rest of the debate.

Eminent Domain

In another memorable moment, former governor Jeb Bush nailed Trump with the Donald’s abuse of eminent domain. It was the most effective Jeb has been in any of the debates. Because of that moment Trump should expect to see a lot more of this ad. Worse for Trump the audience booed him during this exchange.

Kasich was there and droned on at times without saying anything memorable. He didn’t do any damage to himself or any other candidate, but he didn’t help himself either.

The Carson Quitting Rumor

David Muir brought up the issue that Carson and Trump keep bringing up about the false rumor circulated during the Iowa caucuses that Carson might be withdrawing from the race. Muir asked Dr. Ben Carson what kind of action he thought Cruz should take. After evoking Ronald Reagan’s 11th Commandment not to speak ill of another Republican, Carson said   “I’m not going to use this opportunity to savage the reputation of Senator Cruz.” Then Carson belittled himself and did his best to savage Cruz’ reputation.

There were a few other questions including one about torture. Nothing the moderators threw at Cruz rattled him or even threw him off stride. None of the other candidates even tried to go after Cruz. A very impressive winning performance by Cruz.

“None of the other candidates even tried to go after Cruz.”

Except for Trump’s BS remark in his closing statement — accusing Cruz of stealing the Iowa caucus and Ben Carson still whining about Cruz’s supposed unfair actions before the caucus. Trump’s remark was a cheap shot which makes his dimwitted followers think he’s a tough guy. All he did was show what a petulant little boy he is. Both he and Carson demonstrated no class whatsoever.

After almost 8 years of an uncouth, mean spirited president, the last thing we need is another immature jerk in the White House.

GOPe wisdom dictates as it did in Iowa that Cruz stands no chance of winning NH, I predicted Cruz with all confidence and without a doubt would win Iowa hands down, I make the same prediction for NH!

It would not be adverse for Cruz to place 2d or 3rd in such a left to moderate state, it could in fact be called good to place NH, so when he comes in first place it will be astounding, he will come in first.

After that the progressive liberal media in concert with the GOPe, the DNC and the many faux conservative blogs and forums will conspire to double down its full out assault on Cruz using the same old lies, deceit and an abundance of false accusation, it already is and has been for the enemies of our constitution anybody but Cruz, so we haven’t seen anything yet. When a principled man engages on a righteous endeavor such as the restoration of our Republic, in faith despite appearances, all things work together for good.

Well, I didn’t think Cruz would win in Iowa, but he did. So I will defer to your wisdom and confidence.

Already the long knives are out for Cruz. You should see the lies, distortions and general nastiness posted on Facebook. It started with the Berniebots, but now the site is infested with Trumpbots. This has been an ugly campaign, and it will only get worse for Ted Cruz whether he wins in NH or not.

I like that reminder … and needed it! It has been illuminating and educational to see how many folks who call themselves “political conservatives,” are actually populist Republican loyalists.

And those of us praying for him will not let up. If people were not so deeply opinionated against anybody claiming to be a Christian, they might actually realize they are watching one actually stand well, take all the flaming arrows and still show Christian love back…which has to make one take pause with Carson’s claim to be a Christian. He has been petty and unforgiving. Cruz could’ve easily brought up that Rubio, Trump and Carson campaigns were telling voters that Cruz was not a natural born citizen. But, he did not throw any accusations back…to anybody. He leaves it to the Lord to take care of. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have such a man int he WH again?

Pray for righteousness to be restored and for the peace of Jerusalem

If Cruz won, he did it by keeping his head down. He didn’t have one significant moment in the entire debate, unless it was his continued apology to Carson.

This was easily Cruz’s worst night, lost only because Rubio had an even worse night.
