Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) said House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) should “absolutely” testify before the commission that was made to look into the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.
“He absolutely should and I wouldn’t be surprised if he were subpoenaed,” Cheney said in a preview clip of her interview on ABC News’s “This Week” that will air Sunday.
“I think he very clearly and said publicly that he’s got information about the president’s state of mind that day,” Cheney added.

McCarthy attempted to expand the commission to include violence that occurred at some Black Lives Matter protests last summer and the attack on the Capitol on Good Friday during which an officer was killed.
She said she hopes McCarthy “doesn’t require a subpoena” to testify; however, she “wouldn’t be surprised” if he did.
