Christian Colleges in Crosshairs of LGBT Attack

Sin always starts small – with a thought, a glance or maybe an unresolved issue. If it’s not checked by God, it can grow into a monster that takes complete dominion over your life.

Yet sin doesn’t just affect us personally but culturally as well. And the pathway of sin is the same for both – it starts with fascination and then transitions to toleration, participation, celebration and finally domination.

Sin doesn’t stop, ever. It grows and intensifies as long as it’s allowed to take root. The Apostle Paul calls this “being a slave to sin.”

Sin is no respecter of persons or nations. It seeks total dominion of both.

In America today, we’re watching the reality of this truth with the rise of the sexual revolution. This culture of immorality all started with fascination, toleration and participation throughout the ’60s. Today, it has shifted into celebration and domination of every area of culture.

And it’s worse than we imagined. What started out with brief mentions in research journals and magazines has now totally captured school boards, the White House, the Boy Scouts and even part of God’s house – there is nothing left unconquered by the sexual revolution, with the exception of a faithful remnant in the Christian church.

Now the revolution has set its target on faithful Christian colleges.

Last week, the NCAA received a demand letter from a coalition of more than 80 LGBT organizations urging the NCAA to divest itself from Christian colleges seeking Title IX exemptions.

In case you’re wondering what Title IX is, it’s a piece of legislation from 1972 that equalized scholarships for girls in NCAA sports. All was good with it until the Obama administration extended Title IX’s reach to include sexual orientation and gender identity in 2014. As a result, 59 Christian colleges requested waivers to Obama’s expansion.

In response to accusations of “discrimination” by the LGBT coalition, the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities replied, “Many do hold a view of marriage as between a man and a woman consistent with the view of all of the world’s major religions, and they ask all employees and students to confine sexual activity to this context for as long as they are a part of the campus community. These policies in no way target LGBTQ members of the community but instead apply to all within the community.”

That sounds reasonable, and even American – if it weren’t for the domination of the sexual revolution. It’s not enough to tolerate or even celebrate contrary lifestyle choices anymore. Everyone must now participate in those choices by denying their deeply held convictions.

Can anyone say religious liberty?!

We can’t help but think back to the days we were recruited by Liberty University to play NCAA Division 1 baseball. Back then, the recruiter explained Title IX to us as he was offering us scholarships. Never in our wildest imaginations would we have thought 20 years later Liberty could lose its affiliation with the NCAA simply for adhering to biblical, sexual morality.

But this is the new America, one in which the dominion of sin in the form of a radical sexual revolution continues to intensify.

Yet there’s hope! Jesus broke sin’s grip at the cross and offers us a way out. “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and death” (Romans 8:2). Personally, there is freedom in Christ.

And culturally there’s freedom too – because “where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom” (2 Corinthians 3:17). And not only can we have this freedom, but our nation can be exalted once again if we simply return to God and submit to his boundaries: “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people” (Proverbs 14:34).

With our without a Title IX exemption, we pray Christian universities across the nation stand strong against the dominion of sin. Little compromises are all it takes to create an immoral monster that dominates entire campuses.

Looks like another couple good sites for conservatives and Christian conservatives! Yay!

We knew it wouldn’t take long before they started on Christian colleges and K-12s. It has already! We need to write our Congress-critters and let them know how we feel about the infringement of our rights as people of faith, not to mention that girls bathrooms being open to men will surely lead to more rape cases than ever…but don’t expect the news channels to focus the light on that! It is really up to us to act, within the law…not shoot men coming out of then stalls unless we hear women screaming for their lives inside. A sex predator has already shown how easy it is to avail himself to the women’s bathrooms, so are we going to post police to check on these men to make sure they are not sex offenders? Yeah, right! Didn’t think so! So, we are giving our women and girls over to the PC police, just so men are not offended at being turned back. What kind of society does that? We are toast! Burned toast, at that!

There needs to be one more category of forums…INSANITY!

Pray for righteousness to be restored and for the peace of Jerusalem
