Coldest daily temperatures in three years to hit parts of US this week

Temperatures are expected to bounce back in the second half of the week.

As cold air overtakes areas of the United States this week, ranging from the Northeast and New England to the Northern Plains and Upper Midwest, some parts of the U.S. will experience their coldest daily temperatures in three years. 

ABC News reported 15 million people were under wind chill advisories Monday morning, with the wind chill in the Upper Midwest to be as cold as 45 degrees below zero, compared to 35 degrees below zero in the Northeast and New England.

On Tuesday, New York is forecast to have a high of 22 degrees, while Boston will reach a high of 12 degrees, marking the coldest temperature in both areas since 2019.
