Actor Robert De Niro reprised his role as special counsel Robert Mueller on “Saturday Night Live,” paying a visit to President Trump’s sons, Eric Trump and Donald Trump Jr.

In the cold open on Saturday’s show, De Niro as Mueller appeared as a “boogeyman” in Eric Trump’s closet as his older brother reads him a bedtime story.

“Don’t be scared, it’s just me, Robert Mueller, your dad’s friend from work,” he said.

De Niro as Mueller warns Eric Trump, played by Alex Moffat, that some of his dad’s friends may end up in prison, referring to Michael Cohen, the president’s longtime personal lawyer, as “federal inmate 10358.”

He reassures Eric Trump that the country will be “just fine” because it’s “full of good people.”

…….

“Mr. Mueller, people say you’re the worst thing to ever happen to my dad,” Eric Trump says in the sketch.

But De Niro, prompting cheers from the audience, pushes back: “No Eric, getting elected president was the worst thing that ever happened to your dad.”
