Country music legend Dolly Parton announced that she received her COVID-19 vaccine on Tuesday.
“Dolly gets a dose of her own medicine,” the “Jolene” singer shared on Twitter alongside a photo of her receiving the shot.

Parton tagged Vanderbilt University Medical Center in her Tuesday post. She announced last April, just weeks into the pandemic in the U.S., that she was giving $1 million to researchers at the center towards developing a COVID-19 vaccine.
She was later listed as one of several donors in the November announcement that Moderna’s coronavirus vaccine candidate was found to be 94.5 percent effective.
“I’m just happy that anything I do can help somebody else,” Parton told NBC’s “Today” show at the time.
“When I donated the money to the COVID fund, I just wanted it to do good,” she added. “And evidently, it is. And let’s just hope we find a cure real soon.”
