I Will Not Vote For Donald Trump. Ever.

Source: The Resurgent | February 22, 2016 | Erick Erickson

When I wrote in National Review that I was against Donald Trump, I said and have maintained since his entry into the race that if Donald Trump is the Republican nominee, I would support him. No longer.

Donald Trump believes the federal government should fund Planned Parenthood. Donald Trump believes there are good things the child killers do. What is most damning is how so many are willing to be compromised by Donald Trump.

For eight years the conservative movement compromised itself as a wing of George W. Bush’s Republican Party. The movement became ill defined and conservative became a synonym with Republican.

Already we are seeing pastors and religious leaders compromising their integrity to vote for Donald Trump. Jerry Falwell, Jr. has joined the whores of Moloch, defending Trump’s Planned Parenthood statement on Twitter. Falwell presides over an institution that expels students who have abortions, but is willing to give positive lip service to Trump saying there are good things Planned Parenthood does.

If Trump were elected President, there would be members of the pro-life movement who would compromise their convictions for access to power.

If Trump were elected, portions of the conservative movement would compromise the movement to be one degree from Donald Trump. The intellectual institutions on which we have made our case for limited government and freedom would crumble.

And on top of it all, the oligarchs would be just fine. They would coddle and humor a President Trump, a man of mountainous ego, and get their way while the very people Donald Trump promises to help would get table scraps.

It is amazing how many television personalities have compromised their convictions for a discounted stay at Mara Lago. Donald Trump requires compromises of conviction that I in good conscience cannot and will not make.

I have become convinced that Donald Trump’s pro-life conversion is a conversion of convenience. Life is the foremost cause in how I vote. Therefore I will not be voting for Donald Trump at all. Ever.

Wholeheartedly agree and I will do likewise. I refuse to be badgered into voting for Trump because, if I don’t, a Democrat will win. Personally, I think a Trump presidency would be just as liberal as, or very close to a Clinton or Sanders presidency.

So many people I thought were conservative have cast aside their supposed values and beliefs to support Trump. Most of them have focused on that promised border wall and claim that resolving the illegal immigration crisis is the number one priority. Never mind that Trump is an amoral, lying fraud. These people will sacrifice all they allegedly stood for in exchange for the promise of security. And that promise of security is tenuous at best.

A few days ago someone sent me a link to Trump’s overall platform. Admittedly, there are a few good ideas, but there is no provision for paying for everything he allegedly wants to accomplish.

For example, he wants to overhaul the VA and provide more and better services to veterans. Fine. I think everyone recognizes we need to better care for our veterans. But when I questioned where will the money come from to pay for all these improvements, I was told I don’t care about the veterans. I guess I’m just supposed to trust Trump. Sorry, I don’t.

If Trump is the nominee, we will have another amoral, socialist presidency. And this country will be hurled into the abyss. God help us.

The monies will all come from higher taxes. And his touchback amnesty, where will the money come from to “fly them home, they touch the ground and return right away”? Is he using his Trump 757? Of course not! This sounds wonderful, but it is ludicrous! It sounds compassionate….but haven’t we heard that before…the compassionate conservative (GWB)?

We’ll have a larger government than ever before. We’ll have more unsustainable debt. And from the mouth of Trump, himself, “we’ll do it, we’ll get it done, it’ll be fun…..” Can’t wait….right? Does he think we’re crazy? Obviously he think enough people ARE. But his numbers against Bernie or Hillary do not stack up for a win.

I pray that he opens that trap of his a couple more times and lets out enough whoppers that any conservatives STILL voting for him have to back out publicly…and I’m saying Phyllis Schafly here, along with any evangelicals. I think Palin is past being turned. She has turned her back on conservatism altogether. That is what I see. She can still use the little meaningless cliches if she wants but they serve no point at this time.

I think it’s time we all decided to do the right thing here and if Trump wins, we write in Cruz.

“I think it’s time we all decided to do the right thing here and if Trump wins, we write in Cruz.”

    ****

But don’t you know you are wasting your vote and/or ensuring a Clinton or Sanders win? That was the grief I received on FR when I wrote in a candidate instead of voting for Romney.

I will indeed write in Ted Cruz if Trump is nominated. Same if someone else like Rubio is somehow pushed in by the elites in Trump’s place

My husband told me he had to turn off Rush Limbaugh today at work; it was nothing but TrumpTrumpTrump. He said that The Combover is in Nevada, calling Cruz sick, the worst liar in the world, a baby, a nothing, gutless, etc.

Yeah. that’s right. Cruz, the man who stood on the Senate floor with a urine bag strapped to him during his lone efforts to stop Obamacare, is a baby, a nothing. The man who stood surrounded by angry, screaming GOPers and shrugged it off is gutless.

In actual reality, the gutless zero is the pathetic, lying, pampered Fifth Avenue elitist who flew to the border and refused to get out of his plane until he was assured it was safe. Donald Trump’s interest is himself….Cruz’s is the country and the welfare of the American people.

I will never, EVER cast a vote for that piece of Manhattan garbage.

“I will never, EVER cast a vote for that piece of Manhattan garbage.” Oooooh! I like that! Fits him well. The more he speaks, the more he is un-presidential, totally losing it, becoming delusional. This guy cannot even remember what he tells one group tot he next? It’s time for his wife to pack him home.

    Slhancock, his wife….

All I can say is that’s one chick who loves money a lot more than I do.

    (shudder)

Easy, he will just get the Mexicans to pay for it. </sarc>

    Rodamala, LOL

Speaking of veterans, remember the money Trump raised for them when he skipped out on the debate? I read on twitter that it was handed out only to those veterans who live in primary states.
