Lawyer for Rand Paul’s attacker: Fight was about ‘trivial’ matter, not politically motivated

The lawyer for the man who attacked Sen. Rand Paul over the weekend said Monday that the two men got into a fight over a “trivial” issue, and not politics.

“The unfortunate occurrence of November 3rd has absolutely nothing to do with either’s politics or political agenda. It was a very regrettable dispute between two neighbors over a matter that most people would regard as trivial,” attorney Matthew Baker said, according to a tweet.

Baker represents Rene Boucher, Paul’s neighbor of 17 years. Baker said he hopes the two men can “get back to being neighbors as quickly as possible.”

The guy broke 5 ribs. I highly doubt the Paul’s will be inviting them over for BBQ anytime soon. There is nothing about this event that is “trivial”.

ABC said it was a dispute over “landscaping.” LOL

No, actually, I guess it’s not all that funny. Could have involved guns, knives or some other weapon. Why is it that nowadays people can’t settle their differences in a civilized manner and not resort to violence? Talk to your neighbor, reason with him, maybe try to work out a compromise. If not, take the matter to the proper authorities. But there is no need to engage in fisticuffs.
