Levin: What’s Next for Constitutional Conservatism?

“The Trump and McConnell folks really have no problem with big centralized government,” Levin explained, saying they just want big government to do the things they like.

Speaking of the Republican Party, Levin said, “ever since Ronald Reagan, they have abandoned conservatism…. the Republican establishment, for now, has succeeded in defeating the conservative movement.”  

They’ve become a party of “progressive Republican” protectionists. But progressivism cannot create nirvana on earth.

Levin said constitutional conservatives must articulate that “liberty,” not progressivism, “is the best course to opportunity and happiness.”
