Madison Cawthorn is threatening to go after establishment Republicans following his Republican primary defeat on Tuesday.

In an Instagram post, he stated it was “time for Dark MAGA to take command.”

A (Caw)thorn in the Party’s Side? Rep. Madison Cawthorn may not have won his primary race, but he isn’t going to leave the political scene quietly.

In a Thursday Instagram post, the outgoing 26-year-old congressman previewed his plans after this Congress session concludes in January, with the North Carolina Republican suggesting he’s prepared to target the GOP establishment. He’s not yet naming names.

– “I am on a mission now to expose those who say and promise one thing yet legislate and work towards another, self-profiteering, globalist goal. The time for gentile politics as usual has come to an end. It’s time for the rise of the new right, it’s time for Dark MAGA to truly take command. We have an enemy to defeat, but we will never be able to defeat them until we defeat the cowardly and weak members of our own party. Their days are numbered.”

Huh? If you’re confused what Dark MAGA means, you aren’t alone. The simple answer is it seems to be an “edgier” version of the Trump-supporting MAGA-verse. (Newsweek did a more in depth primer on it last month.)

The Response? The post quickly made its way around Capitol Hill. One senior Republican member joked, on condition of anonymity: “It’s like a MAGA hero who works in the shadows at night to fight crime in Gotham.”

    So is the FBI paying attention? Cawthorn and a number of his buddies in the cult have been making thinly veiled threats against their perceived enemies for some time. No, they don’t overtly threaten violence, but unless one is totally oblivious to the radical goings-on of the cult, you can be sure this is what they are threatening. I do know that if they achieve huge majorities in congress and later, the presidency, one can expect all the features of a 2-bit dictatorship, including mass arrests, show trials or even “disappearances.”
