Milo Yiannopoulos to deliver CPAC keynote

Right-wing provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos is slated to deliver a keynote address at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) next month, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The addition of the controversial Breitbart News senior editor is a contrast from the high-profile conference’s list of established conservatives such as Vice President Pence and Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas).

Yiannopoulos told The Hollywood Reporter that he will discuss his “experiences in America battling feminists, Black Lives Matter, the media, professors and the entertainment industry.”

The Breitbart editor made headlines earlier this month, when his scheduled speech at the University of California-Berkeley was cancelled after protests against the event turned violent.

This was a disgusting tirade. He is no conservative, and if this is what conservativism will be going forward, we need another brand name quickly! I have never liked this guy and am offended to be lumped as a conservative with him.

Pray for righteousness to be restored and for the peace of Jerusalem

CPAC hasn’t featured anyone I would call conservative for some time. To them anyone who is registered as a Republican is called a “conservative.” As we have seen, that is not the case. The two words “Republican” and “conservative” are not interchangeable. But with the election of Trump, conservatism has been redefined. Real conservatives have been replaced by anyone representing the New York values Trump embraces. This Milo person fits the new definition. Real conservatives have been told to hit the bricks. It’s too bad that so many of them haven’t taken the hint. We could have our own party to run a real conservative in 2020.

CPAC is now a farce, a sick joke. Politicians will still feel compelled to attend in order to schmooze donors, but the rest of us real conservatives should just ignore it. Perhaps next year, we could have a convention of real conservatives to counter this lunacy.
