Prince Charles is traveling to Washington to attend former President George H.W. Bush’s funeral Wednesday at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C.

The heir to the British throne will be representing his mother, Queen Elizabeth, 92, at the ceremony, according to Clarence House, the residence of Prince Charles and his wife Camilla. Prince Charles, 70, also represented the queen at President Ronald Reagan’s funeral in 2004.

The queen shared her condolences with the Bush family on Saturday.

“It was with sadness that I learned of the death of President George H.W. Bush last night,” she said in a statement. “President Bush was a great friend and ally of the United Kingdom. He was also a patriot, serving his country with honor and distinction in office and during the Second World War. Prince Philip and I remember our days in Texas in 1991 with great fondness. My thoughts and prayers are with President Bush’s family and the American people.”
