Romney: Biden, Burisma probe 'appears political'

Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) said on Thursday that a GOP investigation into Hunter Biden and Ukrainian gas company Burisma “appears political,” and that people are “tired” of political investigations.

“There’s no question but that the appearance of looking into Burisma and Hunter Biden appears political, and I think people are tired of these kind of political investigations,” Romney told reporters.

Romney’s skepticism could signal a significant roadblock for Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Chairman Ron Johnson’s (R-Wis.) efforts to subpoena a former consultant for a U.S. firm with ties to Burisma.

Romney, a member of the committee, has not yet said if he will support the subpoena.

Of course, this whole Biden/Burisma thing is political. Does anyone really think Trump and his lackeys would really care otherwise if there was any wrongdoing? It’s a typical MO with Trump when it comes to his enemies. We saw this in 2016 with Ted Cruz: Look for a hint of scandal , or if you can’t find anything, make up a conspiracy theory. Then push it on the gullible voters. The Ukraine had already looked into this matter and the prosecutor found nothing wrong. But Trump and his allies are going to press this till they do find something, or if not, they’ll make something up.

I guess “witch hunts” are not ok for Trump, but perfectly fine for his perceived enemies.
