House Majority Whip Steve Scalise was transferred out of the intensive care unit at MedStar Washington Hospital Center on Thursday following “continued good progress” and is in fair condition, the hospital said Friday.
Scalise, who has undergone multiple surgeries since he was shot during an attack June 14 on a Republican congressional baseball team practice, will continue “an extended period of healing and rehabilitation,” according to a MedStar statement.
