Trump has to have the biggest, best, most fantastic ever! In the history of the world. The very very most tremendous!
That “press conference” was pathetic and Spicer should have been embarrassed. He probably had no choice if he wanted to stay employed.
What pissed me off was Trump standing in front of 117 stars representing dead CIA agents talking about crowd size, saying he was on the cover of TIME more than any other president (not true, Nixon beat him 55 to 10), and saying that the media created a false narrative that Trump had trashed the CIA (he did, in fact, compare our intelligence agencies to Nazi Germany last week).
This is surreal. Trump is trying to create a narrative that the public should never believe the media.
Why?
Because when the media uncovers the inevitable conflicts of interest with his business dealings and his campaign’s contacts with Russia, he wants to be able to discredit them.
It’s 1984 folks. The only check on Trump is the Congress. Will any of those sycophants have the guts to challenge him?
What makes it even funnier is that Spicer stood in front of members of the press at the University of Chicago two weeks ago and said “I will never lie to you.”
