    The convention is going on about 20 miles south of me in Dallas. I have been to them for years. Here are some facts you may not know:

    The Republican Party of Texas state convention is larger than the national convention – more delegates than the national one. That is because Texas is so big. Only a few cities are big enough to hold it – have a convention center large enough. The best city for delegates is San Antonio – much less walking with hotels near it. The worst one is Dallas. Takes much more time to get there and there is more walking due to the way the center is laid out. Houston is okay, hotels “sort of” near but a lot of walking in the center. Fort Worth is okay in terms of hotels and walking.
