ST. JOSEPH, MICH. – Three people are dead following a shooting at the Berrien County courthouse.
Two of the people dead are court bailiffs, said Sheriff Paul Bailey during a news conference Monday, July 11. The other person dead is the shooter.
“Brave officers” took down the shooter, Bailey said, adding the suspect was an in-custody inmate.
A county deputy and several civilians were injured, but Bailey did not know an exact number. Those injured were taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph for treatment.
