Simulated Apollo 11 launch on Washington Memorial commemorates 50th anniversary of moon landing

The Air and Space Museum launched its four-day celebration of the moon landing’s 50th anniversary by projecting an image onto the Washington Memorial of the Apollo 11 takeoff.

The full-scale image of Saturn V, which will adorn the iconic obelisk for three days, covers the entire length of the 363-foot monument.
