Steve Deace: Here's where we are at the halfway point of 2017

As we approach the halfway point of 2017, here’s where we are.

All 3 finalists for the presidency last year — Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, and Bernie Sanders (or their campaigns) — have been or are being investigated by the FBI. So clearly the American voter did some expert vetting there.

Republicans announced over the weekend they’re keeping the Obamacare mandates we went to the Supreme Court to fight. Which means they’re now keeping all the key mandates and regulations of Obamacare, which means they’re keeping Obamacare.

Since it’s pulling teeth to get the GOP to defund Planned Parenthood, about the only thing left the two parties truly disagree on is environmental regulations and how much money you can make to get a tax cut. Republicans say$150,000 or lower is middle class. Democrats say $250,000 or lower typically. Even on foreign policy, there’s a lot of tough talk on the Right but they’re not that much different there. Trump gave a phenomenal speech in Saudi Arabia, and has literally done nothing in 6 weeks to follow up. Other than he and his Secretary of State can’t agree on what our view on Qatar is.

If you thought 2016 was bad, just wait for a 2018 election between a party embracing cultural Marxism and one that broke a 9-year promise to the American people.

This town needs an enema.
