Ted Cruz Is Right – America Is at a Turning Point

Last night, as his opponent Donald Trump chalked-up a home state landslide in New York, Senator Ted Cruz gave what might very well be the most important speech of the campaign.

And whether you are currently a Cruz supporter, a Trump supporter or a Kasich supporter Senator Cruz’s words are worth pondering as the campaign moves into its final phase:

The question is not whether all Americans can or will agree on a majority of issues all of the time.  The question is whether a majority of Americans are hungry to rally around a set of principles larger than any single issue that a politician may use to divide us.

In this we believe Ted Cruz is indisputably right; the knee-capping negative campaign, the name-calling, the war of insults and slurs against wives have obscured the core issues of this election to the point that many voters can’t remember what this election is really all about.

Ted Cruz cogently – even eloquently – reminded us that what’s at stake is not just who will occupy the Oval Office, but what governing principles will be operative in America for the next generation.

Cruz’s succinct formulation was that our goals as a government and as a conservative movement should be jobs, freedom, and security

This is about as tight a statement of the goals and credo of the winning 21st century conservative coalition that the English language will allow.

And it fully encapsulates the principles that brought Ronald Reagan to the White House as an outsider in 1980, and that powered the election of 1994 Contract with America Congress, and the 2010 and 2014 Tea Party Wave midterm Republican victories.

But these issues and these unifying principles have been all but forgotten in the past several months of the Republican presidential primary.

Cruz reminded us last night that the alternative to conservative unity around those principles is the election of Hillary Clinton and the maintenance of the Washington Cartel’s stranglehold on America’s government and economy.

This has been a bitter and personal campaign, and Ted Cruz was right to invoke the spirit of America’s founding generation in calling for differences among the conservative coalition to be put aside because of the weight and consequence of the foundational principles we seek to reestablish and the terrible price to be paid if we fail to rise to the task.

I think Ted made a strategic move in that speech. While Trump went back to his Lyin’ Ted routine, Ted moved on to address the issues in a presidential way. Go, Ted!

I pray that every voter from here on out sees the real difference and is tired of Trump’s routine. I’ve never seen such a circus as the Trump campaign, and it’s getting more embarrassing every day. Really, who does this appeal to? This is insanity. This appeals to the Occupy Wall Street types! And, I hope the FBI is really investigating some of the people in his campaign. They really are Alinsky-type agitators.

Pray for righteousness to be restored and for the peace of Jerusalem
