The Family of Slain DNC Staffer Sue Fox News for Pushing Conspiracy Theories (GOOD!)

…….

The parents of murdered DNC staffer, Seth Rich, are suing Fox News, as well as two Fox News employees for an article written last year that contained what they say is false and/or fabricated facts.

The lawsuit, first reported by ABC News, said the May 2017 Fox News article contained “false and fabricated facts” that sparked conspiracy theories tying Rich’s murder to the WikiLeaks dump of 20,000 emails from the DNC, which occurred just a few days after his death.

Rich’s parents, Joel and Mary Rich, claim that Fox News’ Malia Zimmerman and Ed Butowsky “aided and abetted the intentional infliction of emotional distress” by pushing a story to portray their son as a “criminal and traitor to the U.S.”

And let’s not forget Sean Hannity, who pushed the conspiracy theory of Rich’s death – that he’d been killed, possibly by Clinton operatives, for releasing those emails – even after the parents asked him to stop.

This vile, petty little man compounded the pain of the Rich family because he’s obsessed with Hillary Clinton.

“No parent should ever have to live through what we have been forced to endure. The pain and anguish that comes from seeing your murdered son’s life and legacy treated as a mere political football is beyond comprehension” Joel and Mary Rich said in a statement.

Their claim is that Zimmerman and Butowsky contacted them under false pretenses, using their words to craft a story that suggested their son was working with WikiLeaks.

Fox News was forced to take down the story from their website and issued an apology, but that didn’t stop the conspiracy theorists (Sean Hannity) from incessantly covering the story and playing to the tinfoil hat/InfoWars nuts.

Calling the lawsuit one of the dumbest he’d ever seen, Butowsky scoffed at the Rich family, and suggested they “come forward and be honest” with people.
