Corey Lewandowski refused to answer lawmakers’ questions during an appearance before the House Intelligence Committee on Wednesday, according to the panel’s top Democrat.
The lack of cooperation from Trump’s former campaign manager comes one day after former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon declined to answer some of the committee’s questions during an all-day interview, asserting executive privilege and infuriating both Republicans and Democrats on the panel.
“Yesterday, [Lewandowski] said on Fox that he would answer every question that we had. Today however he refused to answer questions, like Steve Bannon, that referred to anything after he left the campaign,” Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) told reporters.
The Democratic lawmaker noted there is no ground for Lewandowski to invoke executive privilege because he never held a job in transition or government.
