Trump a ‘very angry man,’ says former executive

(CNN) Donald Trump is “a very angry man — angrier now than I’ve ever seen him,” a long time former executive in his organization tells CNN.

“I see it right now on the campaign trail — it brings me back, to be honest with you, and not in a pleasant way,” Barbara Res tells CNN’s Christiane Amanpour.

Res worked for Trump for nearly 18 years, from 1978 to 1996. She was in charge of construction at Trump Tower on New York’s Fifth Avenue.

“He got very angry. He would — his face would get red, and his lips would get white, and he would yell and scream.”

Trump often refers to his decision to hire her and other women managers as proof that he is not misogynist.

“I’ve always had a great relationship to the women,” he told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos last August. “I was one of the first people in the construction industry to put women in charge of major construction projects and my relationship has been great.”

Res said that the two had a “good relationship.” Though they had arguments, she told Amanpour, “he let me tell him what I thought.”

Her book about her time in the industry is called “All Alone on the 68th Floor: How One Woman Changed the Face of Construction.”

Res says that Trump has “changed a lot over the years.”

“Even in the years that I worked for him I saw changes in him. He used to have very strong women who he listened to, and gave a lot of authority to, but I doubt if that’s the case now.”

“He never used to speak about women like he does now.”

Writing for The New York Daily News, Res referred to Trump as having said “Men are better than women, but a good woman is better than 10 men.”

CNN asked the Trump campaign to verify this quote and respond to Res’ other allegations. They did not respond.

Referring to Trump’s comment on “The View” in 2006 that he might date Ivanka Trump were she not his daughter, Res said she was “horrified.

“I think he thinks it’s a joke, but I think that’s the way his mind works, that you can joke about that.”

“I remember him talking about somebody that he knew through business, who trafficked in very young women. And he made a joke about that, like it was something to joke about.”

Res told Amanpour she is now an enthusiastic supporter of Hillary Clinton’s campaign.
