President Trump on Sunday accused the federal Russia investigation of ruining lives.
“Who’s going to give back the young and beautiful lives (and others) that have been devastated and destroyed by the phony Russia Collusion Witch Hunt? They journeyed down to Washington, D.C., with stars in their eyes and wanting to help our nation…They went back home in tatters!” Trump tweeted shortly before 9 a.m. Eastern Time.

Trump’s Memorial Day weekend tweet did not name the people whose lives he thought were ruined by a federal probe into his campaign’s relationship with Russia.
However, it does follow a interview published Saturday by the New York Post about former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page, who said the FBI’s Russia investigation led to a breakup with his girlfriend and a loss of business.
Page said he agreed with Trump’s assessment that the federal agency’s decision to have an informant contact members of his campaign ought to be dubbed “spygate,” a play on words in light of one of the country’s political largest scandals, Watergate. The informant has been identified by the media as Stefan Halper, who Page said was “politically motivated.”
