A United Kingdom regulator has carried out a raid of the office of British data research firm Cambridge Analytica, a firm hired by President Trump’s 2016 campaign that is currently caught up in a scandal over alleged misuse of Facebook data.
Investigators with the Information Commissioner’s Office obtained a search warrant and raided the offices late Friday night, The Associated Press reported. There investigators gathered evidence of the firm’s online data gathering techniques that Facebook says violated the platform’s user agreement.
After leaving the London headquarters Saturday morning, the regulator said it will “consider the evidence before deciding the next steps and coming to any conclusions.”
