One U.S. service member was killed and two more critically injured on Friday when they tried to enter an air base in south Jordan, a U.S. military official confirmed.
The service members were attempting to enter the Prince Faisal Air Base when the shootout occurred, according to Jordanian news agency Petra. That site had said two U.S. service members had been killed, but the U.S. military official said it was only one. The incident occurred just after noon local time.
