U.S. government employees stationed in southern China were warned Wednesday about reports of “abnormal sensations of sound and pressure” that pointed to a mild brain injury.
The health alert issued by U.S. officials comes after an official stationed in Guangzhou reported a range of physical symptoms from late 2017 to April 2018 that, after assessment, matched the symptoms of a “mild traumatic brain injury,” a spokeswoman at the State Department told CNN.
“The Chinese government has assured us they are also investigating and taking appropriate measures,” the spokeswoman said.
