Attorney General William Barr on Wednesday denied that he is blocking special counsel Robert Mueller from testifying before Congress.
“It’s Bob’s call whether he wants to testify,” Barr told The Wall Street Journal while en route to El Salvador. “I’m going to break away from Washington and do the real work of the attorney general.”
Barr has repeatedly said that he does not object to Mueller testifying. President Trump, however, voiced opposition on Twitter earlier this month to Mueller’s testimony and said he should not present the findings of his probe into Russian election interference to Congress.
