Democratic Rep. Jim Himes (D-Conn.) on Friday expressed concern that the “adults are leaving the building” over reports that President Trump’s national security adviser H.R. McMaster may soon join the many other senior administration officials let go in recent months.
“I’ll tell you what I’m concerned about, it is the fact that the adults are leaving the building,” when asked if McMaster’s possible departure made him nervous given current international tensions.

Himes, a member of the House Intelligence Committee, said that influential administration officials McMaster and Tillerson were the only ones who could dissuade Trump in case he “wakes up one morning and decides it’s time to go to war with country A, B or C.”
“It’s scary to see those guys leaving,” Himes added.
Reports say Trump has not gotten along well with McMaster in the White House but respects the three-star Army general enough to take his time finding a replacement.
