Evangelical activist Bob Vander Plaats urges Trump to fire Scaramucci after vulgar tirade

Bob Vander Plaats, an evangelical activist in Iowa, is urging President Trump to fire Anthony Scaramucci, the new White House communications director, for unleashing an expletive-filled tirade against Trump administration officials.

“Mr. President, it is time to look in the mirror, accept responsibility, apologize to the American people, and declare an end to this behavior immediately,” Vander Plaats wrote Friday on the website of the Family Leader, a social conservative organization he runs.

“I suggest you lead by first washing out Mr. Scaramucci’s mouth with a bar of soap. After a thorough rinsing, strip his credentials and escort him personally off the White House grounds.”

Vander Plaats said in his online post that he’s disappointed with Trump’s leadership so far in the White House.

“To say the conduct we have been witnessing recently is unacceptable and not representative of the ‘spirit’ of America is a gross understatement,” he said. “The current occupants are found wanting with their leaks, double talk, defense of the indefensible, vulgarity, and their lack of overall respect for each other and, most importantly, their embrace of the people’s sacred trust. Yes, the world is watching. And, more importantly, our children are watching.”

    Well I guess I was wrong. Actually, it was Kelly who sacked Scaramucci. But I am happy someone did it. Some people think this bodes well for Kelly — that maybe he will straighten out the mess in the White House. I hope so, although he should start by working on Trump himself. Doing so might be a job terminating move, however.

    I do not think anyone is going to be able to change Trump. He is an old man. They are usually set in their ways. Aside from that, Trump has a mental illness that unless treated, will not allow him to behave in a sane, rational way. He is not going to let anyone tell him what to do.

    Trump is who he is. His supporters should have known this about him. It’s said that a woman shouldn’t try to marry a man thinking she can change him later. It never works and it won’t work with Trump either.
