Former CIA director John Brennan is warning that lawmakers who try to protect President Trump will face a “reckoning.”
“Leadership of House Intel Committee has traded last vestige of integrity for politics,” Brennan tweeted.

The comments come after Rep. Mike Conaway (R-Texas) said Monday the House Intelligence Committee is shutting down its contentious investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election.

Brennan has in the past been critical of Trump. Earlier this month, he predicted “rough waters ahead,” particularly on international issues, saying Trump is “unstable, inept, inexperienced, and also unethical.”
