Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) accused Democrats of being out for Republican blood, escalating the already heated rhetoric between the parties.
The Republican firebrand made the comments, which went viral and drew blowback, at a “Save America” event Saturday evening in Warren, Michigan, before former President Donald Trump took the stage to campaign for the state’s GOP gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon.
“I am not going to mince words with you all. Democrats want Republicans dead, and they have already started the killings,” Greene said.

Greene brought up the story of Cayler Ellingson, 18, being killed in North Dakota last month. The man accused of murdering Ellingson, 41-year-old Shannon Brandt, said the teenager was “part of a Republican extremist group” and claimed he hit Ellingson with his car “because he had a political argument with the pedestrian and believed the pedestrian was calling people to come get him,” according to court documents.
Closer to home for many of those in attendance, the congresswoman also cited the shooting of an elderly anti-abortion advocate while she was door-to-door canvassing in Michigan last month following an alleged argument.
