McCain diagnosed with brain tumor

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) has been diagnosed with a brain tumor following an operation to remove a blood clot above his left eye.

“The Senator and his family are reviewing further treatment options with his Mayo Clinic care team. Treatment options may include a combination of chemotherapy and radiation,” said a statement from the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix. “The Senator’s doctors say he is recovering from his surgery ‘amazingly well’ and his underlying health is excellent.”

    Heidi and I will be lifting up John, Cindy, and his entire family in our prayers in the wake of his recent diagnosis. John is a hero and a fighter with an iron will. He will no doubt face this with the same level of determination with which he has taken on all obstacles in his life, and I can speak for millions of Americans in saying that our full support and well wishes will be with him throughout this battle.

    Saw some supposed Christians on the Internet all but dance with glee at this news. Amazing how vicious people have become, particularly over the last several years.

    The right thing to do is put aside one’s personal distaste for the man’s politics and offer prayers or words of encouragement. Or if you can’t do that, say nothing at all.
