Special counsel Robert Mueller reportedly asked President Trump about the Republican National Convention (RNC) changing its position on the U.S. providing arms to Ukraine when he submitted a list of questions to him amid the investigation into Russia’s election meddling.
ABC News, citing sources familiar with the president’s responses, reported on Wednesday that Trump told Mueller he was not aware of the platform change, to the best of his recollection.
The news network notes that the question stemmed from the RNC’s controversial July 2016 decision to weaken its formal position on whether the U.S. should assist Ukraine amid aggressive Russian incursion, including the annexation of Crimea.
